Catholic Schools Week

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK is a national celebration of Catholic education in the United States.

2024 is the 50th Anniversary year of this week-long celebration,
and we have lots of great activities planned for our SJRCS Community!

Sunday, January 28

Parishes will celebrate this weekend: check your parish bulletin for CSW Mass details and info about how you and your family can participate!

Monday, January 29:   Student Appreciation Day!

All students will enjoy fun, games, and prizes: Bingo for PreK-1st, ‘Minute to Win It’ Assemblies for grades 2-8. Plus FREE Chick-Fil-A lunch (flyer with ordering information is attached) and a movie with popcorn snack!  This is also a DRESS DOWN DAY (please refer to the out of uniform dress code policy in the handbook) AND a No Homework Day for all students!

Tuesday, January 30:Community Service Day & Day of Giving

We will have a school-wide Canned Food Drive to benefit the Frederick Food Bank, with collection of cans January 15-29. See attached flyer for more information.  Students will collectively spell the word ‘JOY’ with their donated cans on the plaza in front of church on their way to Mass! Your generosity can make this Community Service Project a great success, and show our students how each small contribution can come together to give care and bring joy to many! Our Catholic Schools Week Mass will be celebrated today, with Bishop Parker as our special guest celebrant!

Day of Giving

Every gift helps advance the vital work of our collective community. Past contributions have led the way for school updates in many areas, such as safety by helping to purchase the Raptor system at check-in; and recreational updates, such as enabling us to begin our new playground project anticipated to be completed by the start of the 2024 school year. These funds also help the school’s operational costs, as well as provide educational tools for our students. We believe in our students, staff, and community. We believe that by working together with the same goal in mind, we can accomplish anything.

Thank you for your contribution!
