Founded to recognize the extraordinary generosity of those who make an annual leadership-level contribution to St. John Regional Catholic School (SJRCS), The 1829 Society celebrates donors whose cumulative gifts of $1,000 or more during the fiscal year sustain and strengthen our mission.
In 1829, Catholic education began in Frederick thanks in large part to Father McElroy who established St. John’s Literary Institution for boys in downtown Frederick. Nearly 100 years later, a new building was constructed that could accommodate the growing school population to include girls. In 2002, Father Keith Bosvert and Jim Plamondon launched this society as a way to recognize the visionaries whose faith, leadership, and philanthropy continue to shape our future. Today, we continue to honor those who pave the way for an excellent, quality Catholic education in our community.

Your cumulative giving of $1,000 or more between July 1 and June 30 automatically qualifies you for membership in The 1829 Society.
